Happy Eid Mubarak 2010

Salaam & hi everyone.

I'd like to wish 'Happy Eid Fitri, Maaf Zahir & Batin' to all of you. We are already in the fourth day of Raya.

I still haven't completed few of my tasks. Module 3 still in the progress.

Btw, i'd like to share two tasks that Pn. Foziah had given to us. 1st, she emailed us a mp3 song entitled 'Dua Insan' sang by Dato Siti Nurhaliza & M Nasir. The song was taken from a live concert. So, we need to remove the noise (the clapping sound, the screaming sound) from the mp3 file. I had used the Audacity software to do that. However, i didn't really know how to do it. So, the noise was not 100% removed from the mp3 file. Should i say only 30%?

The next task, we need to create a ringtone. We need to choose a song and create a ringtone from it. Since we are still in Raya mood, i chose to use Dato Siti Nurhaliza's song - Anugerah Aidilfitri. I had used the MP3 Joiner & Splitter software to complete this task and i managed to create a ringtone for that song. Yeah!

I would like to share some knowledge that i've gained from the presentations past few weeks.

All of us were divided into 6 groups and each group has been assigned to present on a subtopic given.

Here, i would like to share some input from my group's presentation.

My group had presented the subtopic of 'Children capacity for play and fun'. Children world is always associated with play and fun since they are more likely prefer doing physical works whereby they could move around and talk to their friends. Remember that kids are restless. By conducting games in classroom, it is the best idea to enhance their learning since students will generate their critical and creative thinking skill in problem solving. Games like Treasure Hunt or Spelling Bee will surely make them feel the enjoyment.

Besides that, it is crucial for teachers to make sure that in every lesson, there should be 10-15 minutes allocated for games or something which is fun. It is not necessary for the teachers to have games everyday, the teachers could also conduct a colouring or drawing activity in classroom. It is surely will be fun.

Thus, remember to all teachers out there, plan and prepare your lesson very well!

I have promised to myself to spend this weekend to complete my Module 2. The Module 2 is all about Photo Editing. This is not something new for me. I like to edit photo. To me, by editing a photo, we give a different mood to the photo and sometimes a normal picture can be outstanding after being edited.

The three software that i frequently used to edit photo are Photoscape, Picasa and Adobe Photoshop. Using the Photoscape & Picasa is much more easier compared to the Adobe Photoshop. You really need to master some skills of the Adobe Photoshop before you can utilize it.

Here, I would like to share one pic that i've edited with all of you. I used the Photoscape for this matter.

Preparing teaching aids...

In the 5th week lecture, Pn. Foziah gave us a task which required us to design and prepare teaching aids for Year 1 to Year 6 classes. My partner, Hanani & I have been assigned to prepare some teaching aids for Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 students under three different topics, 'Story Time', 'Animals and Us' and 'Magical Movements'.

We've already submitted the assignment. We put all our efforts in completing that assignment. I really satisfied with my works.

Overall, i found this task is very beneficial for me as future teachers. Apart form black board & chalk, I could use the technology which is more interactive to make sure that my lesson will be more effective.

1st step : type in the title of the song

2nd step : Choose 1 link

3rd step : click on the download part

4th step : save the file

5th step : wait till the song is completely downloaded

6th step : find the location of the song

7th step : right hand click and choose 'Play'

8th step : Now, you can tune to the song

Me : oh my, i've no idea. Pn.Foziah said that it was a module.
Syuhada : it's ok then. i thought it's a sample of previous group's assignment.
Me : shhhhhhhhh!!!

it was revealed. our portfolio will look like that! deep breath, everybody! no worries. 12 more weeks to go. what??? 12 more weeks? are we manage to produce such work? think positive. InsyaAllah.

my coursemates are so focus!!! i wonder why! ha ha ha

in today's class, our lecturer explained more about this PBEY3102 course. what to expect and so forth... the most important thing for me now is that I really need to improve on my ICT skills as this PBEY3102 course demands on the use of technology in most of the tasks.

what else ya? owh, we also received our very first assignment regarding blog. a 20% assignment. what needs to be done are we have to update our own blog, pay a visit to others' blog (we called it 'blogwalking') and leave some comments if necessary.

today's class for me is very cool! we got time to 'make-up' our blog, update it and explore the blog gadgets. As i'm already a blogger (i got a personal blog), i didnt face any big problem. I used my experience and knowledge to help my friends who really need help in administrating their blog.

PBEY 3102 ... hey, what's that?

how you are? i really hope that all of you are doing good.

An academic blog. PBEY 3102 is the subject code for "Using and Developing Resources for ESL Classroom". The lecturer in charge of this course is Pn. Foziah bt. Mahmood. She looks very warm, friendly and nice. My PBEY 3102 class is on Monday from 10 am - 1 pm.

By the way, on the first lecture, Pn. Foziah asked all of us;
i) to install the Adobe Photoshop CS3,
ii) to buy an 8GB pen drive to be used in this course, and
iii) to create this blog.

Frankly speaking, I dont know what to expect of this course. Wish me luck peeps. Hopefully by the end of this course, I'll gain many beneficial things that to be applied in the ESL Classroom later.
