Salaam & hi everyone.

The final entry for this blog. It is more likely a reflection towards this course.

1. What do you like about blogging? To me, blog is a digital diary. We could write any single thing that we would like to here. Besides, we could also share pictures or even videos in our blog. One thing that i really like about blogging is i am able to express my thoughts without anybody to stop me.
   

2. What you do not like about blogging? I hate people who like to critique on others' write-ups. To me, everyone has their very own style of writing. So, we should respect each other.
   

3. What have you gained from blogging e.g. Language skills, improved fluency, critical thinking, improved thought processes, technology skills etc. How? Frankly speaking, i did improve on my critical thinking skill. I became more aware on what i'm going to write in my entry. So, before i write an entry, i'll make some reading and do a few of research to make sure the information that i'm going to share with others are correct.
   

4. What do you like about this course? This course has opened up my eyes to see and realize that there are so many software available on the net that i could use to enhance my teaching and learning process later in classroom.
   

5. What you do not like about this course? So far, i did not encounter any problem.
   

6. What have you learnt from this course? As i've stated above, i've came across many software including audio, video & photo - software that could help me to edit and improve on a resource that i have.
   

7. What have you learnt from this course that you did not expect to? Making a video. I thought that we are just going to learn basic thing like photo and audio editing. I never ever thought that we will produce our own video.
   

8. What have u expected but do not learn from this course? Nothing. The syllabus prepared are appropriate.
   

9. Comments regarding modules:

1. Internet and computing skills

a. What do you like about this module? It really helps those beginners of computer and internet.

b. What do you not like about this module? To me, for all the 5 modules, all are well prepared for us. So, i dont have any problem with any module.

c. What do you like about the task given for this module? Download the Waka Waka video, the mp3 file as well converting the video format.

d. What do you not like about the task given for this module? Nothing i guess.

e. What are the specific skills that you learn in this module? Converting video format.

f. How the skills learnt in this module can help in the making and choosing of teaching aids for the ELT classroom? Usually the video that we downloaded from the You Tube is in the flv format. Thus, not all video player support the flv format. We need to convert the video file to another format like avi, mva or mpeg so that it could be used in the class. Many videos on the You Tube could be exploited to be used in classroom and that's why it is important for teachers to know how to convert the video file.

2. Photo Editing

a. What do you like about this module? I learnt how to upload pic on certain website like esnips and also i learnt how to edit pic by using different software.

b. What do you not like about this module? Nothing.

c. What do you like about the task given for this module? Edit picture by using the Adobe CS3.

d. What do you not like about the task given for this module? I guess, the module was ok since i like to edit pictures.

e. What are the specific skills that you learn in this module? To make a super impose in a picture. I used the Adobe CS3.

f. How the skills learnt in this module can help in the making and choosing of teaching aids for the ELT classroom? We can make a picture more meaningful and outstanding. A very raw picture could turn up to be so extraordinary if we know how to edit the picture. We could use the Picasa, Photoscape and CS3 software.

3. Audio Editing Skills

a. What do you like about this module? It introduces me to a few software for audio editing.

b. What do you not like about this module? The task of removing the noise from a mp3 file. It was difficult and i almost given up.

c. What do you like about the task given for this module? Creating a mp3 ringtone. It was cool. Now, i am able to create many ringtones of songs that i like.

d. What do you not like about the task given for this module? The task of removing the noise from mp3. It was really hard.

e. What are the specific skills that you learn in this module? Perhaps how to cut one part of a song and make it as ringtone.

f. How the skills learnt in this module can help in the making and choosing of teaching aids for the ELT classroom? Since in classroom teachers did not have much time, so, we could still use songs which the duration is 4-5 mins but we just have to cut parts of it. Make it like ringtone. Just choose the important verse from the song.

4. Video Editing Skills

a. What do you like about this module? At the end of the module, i've managed to produce my own video! My very first time produced a video! I used the Windows Movie Maker to produce the video. And i was happy with the end product.

b. What do you not like about this module? The most difficult module compared to the rest. Many things need to be done to complete the video task. Plus, it required lots of time.

c. What do you like about the task given for this module? Again, the task of producing a video with my partner, Adah. We produced a short video entitled 'LOVE'. We managed to get help from our friends and it took only two days to make that video!

d. What do you not like about the task given for this module? I guess, i did not face any serious problem expect i spent too many times working on the video since i was still a beginner.

e. What are the specific skills that you learn in this module? Creating video and inserting songs and pictures to it. It was a great experience.

f. How the skills learnt in this module can help in the making and choosing of teaching aids for the ELT classroom? By making a video, it is the best way to attract my students. Kids love watching rather than reading and writing. So, i could prepare a video for the suitable topics like Animals or Foods. I could just gather some pictures and insert audio to it. It would be interesting.

5. Software for ELT

a. What do you like about this module? It is so useful for me as future teacher. I learnt many things especially from the Microsoft Publisher.

b. What do you not like about this module? Nothing.

c. What do you like about the task given for this module? Making a brochure.

d. What do you not like about the task given? Nothing.

e. What are the specific skills that you learn in this module? Many things in the Microsoft Publisher which can be utilized for teaching and learning purposes.

f. How the skills learnt in this module can help in making and choosing of teaching aids for the ELT Classroom? I can ask my students to create a greeting card, brochure for some activities in the lesson. This is the best way to engage them with the technology.

10. If you can change anything about this course, state what is and elaborate? In my opinion, i guess, for each module, there should be a limit for the software that should be introduced to us. Perhaps just 5 software for each module. Like for the photo editing, perhaps we should just be introduced to picasa, esnips, Adobe Photoshop, Photoscape and Lightroom. I guess that is more than enough. The important thing is that we could acquire some skills for photo editing.

That is all. I would like to grab this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude towards my course lecturer, Pn. Foziah Mahmood and to all her helpers who have done such a great job to all Cohort 5. The 14 weeks of classes were not boring at all since throughout the 3-hour of each class, we were working with computers and the availability of the internet connection at all the time made me felt so comfort during the class.

Thanks to my dearest friends too for all your help. We had gone through many tasks together. We made it!
