The final entry for this blog. It is more likely a reflection towards this course.

1. What do you like about blogging? To me, blog is a digital diary. We could write any single thing that we would like to here. Besides, we could also share pictures or even videos in our blog. One thing that i really like about blogging is i am able to express my thoughts without anybody to stop me.
   

2. What you do not like about blogging? I hate people who like to critique on others' write-ups. To me, everyone has their very own style of writing. So, we should respect each other.
   

3. What have you gained from blogging e.g. Language skills, improved fluency, critical thinking, improved thought processes, technology skills etc. How? Frankly speaking, i did improve on my critical thinking skill. I became more aware on what i'm going to write in my entry. So, before i write an entry, i'll make some reading and do a few of research to make sure the information that i'm going to share with others are correct.
   

4. What do you like about this course? This course has opened up my eyes to see and realize that there are so many software available on the net that i could use to enhance my teaching and learning process later in classroom.
   

5. What you do not like about this course? So far, i did not encounter any problem.
   

6. What have you learnt from this course? As i've stated above, i've came across many software including audio, video & photo - software that could help me to edit and improve on a resource that i have.
   

7. What have you learnt from this course that you did not expect to? Making a video. I thought that we are just going to learn basic thing like photo and audio editing. I never ever thought that we will produce our own video.
   

8. What have u expected but do not learn from this course? Nothing. The syllabus prepared are appropriate.
   

9. Comments regarding modules:

1. Internet and computing skills

a. What do you like about this module? It really helps those beginners of computer and internet.

b. What do you not like about this module? To me, for all the 5 modules, all are well prepared for us. So, i dont have any problem with any module.

c. What do you like about the task given for this module? Download the Waka Waka video, the mp3 file as well converting the video format.

d. What do you not like about the task given for this module? Nothing i guess.

e. What are the specific skills that you learn in this module? Converting video format.

f. How the skills learnt in this module can help in the making and choosing of teaching aids for the ELT classroom? Usually the video that we downloaded from the You Tube is in the flv format. Thus, not all video player support the flv format. We need to convert the video file to another format like avi, mva or mpeg so that it could be used in the class. Many videos on the You Tube could be exploited to be used in classroom and that's why it is important for teachers to know how to convert the video file.

2. Photo Editing

a. What do you like about this module? I learnt how to upload pic on certain website like esnips and also i learnt how to edit pic by using different software.

b. What do you not like about this module? Nothing.

c. What do you like about the task given for this module? Edit picture by using the Adobe CS3.

d. What do you not like about the task given for this module? I guess, the module was ok since i like to edit pictures.

e. What are the specific skills that you learn in this module? To make a super impose in a picture. I used the Adobe CS3.

f. How the skills learnt in this module can help in the making and choosing of teaching aids for the ELT classroom? We can make a picture more meaningful and outstanding. A very raw picture could turn up to be so extraordinary if we know how to edit the picture. We could use the Picasa, Photoscape and CS3 software.

3. Audio Editing Skills

a. What do you like about this module? It introduces me to a few software for audio editing.

b. What do you not like about this module? The task of removing the noise from a mp3 file. It was difficult and i almost given up.

c. What do you like about the task given for this module? Creating a mp3 ringtone. It was cool. Now, i am able to create many ringtones of songs that i like.

d. What do you not like about the task given for this module? The task of removing the noise from mp3. It was really hard.

e. What are the specific skills that you learn in this module? Perhaps how to cut one part of a song and make it as ringtone.

f. How the skills learnt in this module can help in the making and choosing of teaching aids for the ELT classroom? Since in classroom teachers did not have much time, so, we could still use songs which the duration is 4-5 mins but we just have to cut parts of it. Make it like ringtone. Just choose the important verse from the song.

4. Video Editing Skills

a. What do you like about this module? At the end of the module, i've managed to produce my own video! My very first time produced a video! I used the Windows Movie Maker to produce the video. And i was happy with the end product.

b. What do you not like about this module? The most difficult module compared to the rest. Many things need to be done to complete the video task. Plus, it required lots of time.

c. What do you like about the task given for this module? Again, the task of producing a video with my partner, Adah. We produced a short video entitled 'LOVE'. We managed to get help from our friends and it took only two days to make that video!

d. What do you not like about the task given for this module? I guess, i did not face any serious problem expect i spent too many times working on the video since i was still a beginner.

e. What are the specific skills that you learn in this module? Creating video and inserting songs and pictures to it. It was a great experience.

f. How the skills learnt in this module can help in the making and choosing of teaching aids for the ELT classroom? By making a video, it is the best way to attract my students. Kids love watching rather than reading and writing. So, i could prepare a video for the suitable topics like Animals or Foods. I could just gather some pictures and insert audio to it. It would be interesting.

5. Software for ELT

a. What do you like about this module? It is so useful for me as future teacher. I learnt many things especially from the Microsoft Publisher.

b. What do you not like about this module? Nothing.

c. What do you like about the task given for this module? Making a brochure.

d. What do you not like about the task given? Nothing.

e. What are the specific skills that you learn in this module? Many things in the Microsoft Publisher which can be utilized for teaching and learning purposes.

f. How the skills learnt in this module can help in making and choosing of teaching aids for the ELT Classroom? I can ask my students to create a greeting card, brochure for some activities in the lesson. This is the best way to engage them with the technology.

10. If you can change anything about this course, state what is and elaborate? In my opinion, i guess, for each module, there should be a limit for the software that should be introduced to us. Perhaps just 5 software for each module. Like for the photo editing, perhaps we should just be introduced to picasa, esnips, Adobe Photoshop, Photoscape and Lightroom. I guess that is more than enough. The important thing is that we could acquire some skills for photo editing.

That is all. I would like to grab this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude towards my course lecturer, Pn. Foziah Mahmood and to all her helpers who have done such a great job to all Cohort 5. The 14 weeks of classes were not boring at all since throughout the 3-hour of each class, we were working with computers and the availability of the internet connection at all the time made me felt so comfort during the class.

Thanks to my dearest friends too for all your help. We had gone through many tasks together. We made it!

The Final Exam was over!

This morning i had sat for the PBEY3102 final examination. The exam was held at the MK1 & MK2. The exam began at 10 am till 12 pm.

There were 4 essay questions to be completed and Alhamdulillah i managed to complete them on time.

I could still remember last night i was so worried about how the questions will look like. Like seriously, i was afraid if i were asked to explain on certain software because there are too many software that I've learnt throughout this semester and it is quite impossible for me to remember each and every software.

Overall, I had done my very best and I hope I'll get good grade. InsyaAllah.

Completing all the 5 Modules

The picture above has already explains everything. I'm totally occupied with the modules. 5 modules that need to be ready by the end of November. Few weeks to go.

Basically, what could i conclude about the modules is that it really helps to open up my eyes to see that there are many software and website that i never come across before. As a future teacher, i could exploit and use some of the software to be used in my teaching aids.

Ok, i guess that is all for now. I need my own sweet time to complete all the modules. Time shouldn't be wasted, peeps!

I'm now a short film maker!

Salaam & hi to everyone.

One of the task for module 4 (Video Editing) is to produce a video. My partner, Adah & I had chosen a topic about 'Love'. We were actually wanted to know and share with the rests on what are some of the philosophies of love from others' points of views. We were so thankful as four of our friends were so sporting in helping us for some of the scenes in this video. Thanks a lot Emma, Marhani, Ashraf & Ash.

The journey in producing this video wasn't easy as ABC. It took hours to make it real! I've been using the Windows Movie Maker to produce this short film. I was excited and happy with the final product. Alhamdulillah. Thanks to my partner, Adah for being so supportive. Thanks to Pn. Foziah for some of the ideas too.

Now, enjoy the short film called "LOVE". I was also happy and thankful because my video was the one with highest number of viewers. Almost 200 if i were to compared with the rest of my course mates. Thanks everyone!

It's already the 12th week!

Salaam & hi everyone.

Time flies so fast. Two more pending weeks before we come to the end of this semester. My goodness, i still haven't completed my module 3 & 4 yet! Quite busy these few weeks. Hope i will be able to find a suitable time to work on the modules.

On the yesterday's class, Pn. Foziah had shown us a few examples of videos. Actually it aimed to help us for our next task. We need to produce a video by using Microsoft Power Point and we need to put in audio too.

For this task, we need to work in pairs and my partner is Adah.

Both of us have decided to make a story about shapes. We will create some characters by using the 3D Shapes and then we will record the voices of each character.

Photo Editing Task

It's 11th week already.

One of the task for the Photo Editing is to produce a meaningful photo.

Out of sudden, i think of putting my pic onto a film poster. I spent almost 10 mins to find the most suitable picture to match with a film poster.

I used the Adobe CS3 and Photoscape software to produce the picture.

Time is running out!

We are already in the final day of September. 3 more weeks before the semester ends. Time flies so fast.

3 modules are done. 2 more modules are on the way!

We are heading towards the end of this semester and obviously there are many tasks and assignments that need to be completed. Not just only for this course but we need to prepare a teaching kit for our Technology course, working on a research for our Assessment, preparing a lesson for our Mathematics and presenting our research for both TITAS & Info Skill.

My wise advice to everyone, be cool! Dont be too stress! Time management is very important here.

After completing my last tutorial for Module 3, i realized the benefit of doing the modules. Actually, if we compile all the modules and sell it at bookshop, trust me, lots of people will buy it especially those IT beginners. In each and every module, we need to show every single steps of the tutorials which to me it was really beneficial to those who do not know how to download song, making a ringtone and even edit a picture.

To conclude, the modules that are prepared to us are not a burden actually since it has many benefits.

Lets enjoy doing the next module - Module 4!

Happy Eid Mubarak 2010

I'd like to wish 'Happy Eid Fitri, Maaf Zahir & Batin' to all of you. We are already in the fourth day of Raya.

I still haven't completed few of my tasks. Module 3 still in the progress.

Btw, i'd like to share two tasks that Pn. Foziah had given to us. 1st, she emailed us a mp3 song entitled 'Dua Insan' sang by Dato Siti Nurhaliza & M Nasir. The song was taken from a live concert. So, we need to remove the noise (the clapping sound, the screaming sound) from the mp3 file. I had used the Audacity software to do that. However, i didn't really know how to do it. So, the noise was not 100% removed from the mp3 file. Should i say only 30%?

The next task, we need to create a ringtone. We need to choose a song and create a ringtone from it. Since we are still in Raya mood, i chose to use Dato Siti Nurhaliza's song - Anugerah Aidilfitri. I had used the MP3 Joiner & Splitter software to complete this task and i managed to create a ringtone for that song. Yeah!

All children are unique

I would like to share some knowledge that i've gained from the presentations past few weeks.

All of us were divided into 6 groups and each group has been assigned to present on a subtopic given.

Here, i would like to share some input from my group's presentation.

My group had presented the subtopic of 'Children capacity for play and fun'. Children world is always associated with play and fun since they are more likely prefer doing physical works whereby they could move around and talk to their friends. Remember that kids are restless. By conducting games in classroom, it is the best idea to enhance their learning since students will generate their critical and creative thinking skill in problem solving. Games like Treasure Hunt or Spelling Bee will surely make them feel the enjoyment.

Besides that, it is crucial for teachers to make sure that in every lesson, there should be 10-15 minutes allocated for games or something which is fun. It is not necessary for the teachers to have games everyday, the teachers could also conduct a colouring or drawing activity in classroom. It is surely will be fun.

Thus, remember to all teachers out there, plan and prepare your lesson very well!

I have promised to myself to spend this weekend to complete my Module 2. The Module 2 is all about Photo Editing. This is not something new for me. I like to edit photo. To me, by editing a photo, we give a different mood to the photo and sometimes a normal picture can be outstanding after being edited.

The three software that i frequently used to edit photo are Photoscape, Picasa and Adobe Photoshop. Using the Photoscape & Picasa is much more easier compared to the Adobe Photoshop. You really need to master some skills of the Adobe Photoshop before you can utilize it.

In the 5th week lecture, Pn. Foziah gave us a task which required us to design and prepare teaching aids for Year 1 to Year 6 classes. My partner, Hanani & I have been assigned to prepare some teaching aids for Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 students under three different topics, 'Story Time', 'Animals and Us' and 'Magical Movements'.

We've already submitted the assignment. We put all our efforts in completing that assignment. I really satisfied with my works.

Overall, i found this task is very beneficial for me as future teachers. Apart form black board & chalk, I could use the technology which is more interactive to make sure that my lesson will be more effective.
